Hello! Hola! Olá! Salut!
Thank you so much for visiting my blog – Viajera&Vibes!
I’m assuming you’re either a fellow globetrotter and language enthusiast or you’re just stepping in to this world and want some guidance, insight or maybe just some wonderlust-fueled motivation.
Well, you’re in the right place! Why don’t you get comfy while I tell you a little bit more about myself and why I started Viajera&Vibes.
Who am I?

My name is Abby, I’m 30 and I live in Manchester, UK.
If you were to ask my friends and family about me they would probably say something along the lines of: “she’s a travel fanatic who’s obsessed with languages, Portugal and South America” – which is absolutely correct.
I’ve travelled to 20 destinations and I usually travel around 4-6 times a year but I’m currently saving up to do my dream trip around Central & South America.
I’m always getting questions on social media about how I’m able to travel so much and where I find my holidays. The truth is, I’m always looking for the best travel deals and the best value for money as, in my eyes, travelling doesn’t have to be expensive. You can still see the world without breaking the bank.
I’m also a qualified TESOL teacher and I’ve been teaching English in The UK and abroad for the past 6 years. I’ve got a Bachelor’s degree in Language Studies with French and Spanish and I can also speak Portuguese and Italian (although my Italian is a little rusty now). As you can probably tell, I’m a complete linguaphile! I love learning languages. it unlocks a whole new world of travel experiences, cultural understanding, new relationships and so many more benefits. I always encourage people to learn at least one language, especially if you love travelling.
Viajera&Vibes – What does that mean?
As a language lover (as you’ve probably gathered), it seemed only right to incorporate it in to the name of my blog. ‘Viajera’ is the Spanish word for ‘traveller’, in particular ‘female traveller’, and vibes? Well, I just like good vibes! I like to be happy, optimistic and surrounded by positive energy which is something I want to be transmit throughout this blog. So put the two together and you have Viajera&Vibes.

Exploring the world, one culture at a time.
Of course travel is about seeing new places, trying new foods, and snapping a few photos that you’ll post to Instagram with “take me back” captions later. But if you ask me, the heart of travelling is about connection – and that’s where language and culture come in.
This blog isn’t just here to tell you where to get the best pizza in Naples or find the perfect selfie spot in Paris (although i’ll definitely let you in on that too), this blog is about giving you the tools to dive a little deeper when you travel. Why? Because travel isn’t just about places – it’s about people. People are their culture, their language, their traditions and their stories.
Here you’ll find travel guides and handy tips to help you make the most of your adventures, but also language hacks, cultural insights and etiquette dos and don’ts. I want to help you avoid the awkward faux pas, connect with locals in meaningful ways and leave each country with memories that go beyond the postcard-perfect view.
So dive in. If you’re someone who loves to travel with curiosity, respect and a good sense of humour – welcome. This blog is for you.
